What is a Digital Nose?

Sniphi is a modular platform that captures real-time data on unique gas and VOC patterns, which are processed by an AI-powered digital brain. Machine learning algorithms recognize these patterns, enabling instant analysis and precise identification of scents or gases. The system leverages IoT-class sensors and Microsoft cloud services, and can be deployed seamlessly on existing environments or as edge devices.
How it works?
During training, data from Sniphi sensors is transmitted to the Microsoft Azure cloud, our “Digital Brain”. There, it is analyzed in real-time with Power BI, stored in an Azure SQL Database, labeled for AI model training using Power Apps, and processed by machine learning algorithms in Azure Databricks.
Once trained, the model compares incoming data against a database of known “digital fingerprints,” enabling instant identification, detailed insights, and automated actions.
The pre-trained model can run directly on the sensor (AI on the Edge) or in the cloud, accessible via API requests (AI in the Cloud).
Each substance emits a unique pattern of VOCs and gases, allowing the Digital Nose to create a digital fingerprint, analyze it with AI, and present results in Power BI. This makes it applicable across multiple industries, including: food and beverage, safety and security, fragrance and cosmetics, medicine, environmental monitoring, and more.
